from BittenandboundFamed American landscape and people painter Andrew Newell Wyeth has died at his family home in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania at age 91 after a brief illness.
The “Painter of the People” drew his inspiration from the land and people around him as his favorite subjects. He painted his beloved Pennsylvania and well as scene near his summer home in Maine. His style, known as regional art made him extremely popular with the American public.
Considered one of the best known of the 20th century artists, perhaps his best known image is the painting Christina’s World, currently among a collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
